Latinidad LDN is a submission based digital archive dedicated to preserving the personal stories and histories of London's Latin American diaspora. Latinidad LDN also hosts archive workshops and film-screenings with the Latin-American community, to use social memory, and the intentional act of remembering as a form of healing. Latinidad LDN is proud to present its debut event, with a double screening of short films made in the early 90s by two UK based Latin-American film-makers

SALSA FEVER (Patricia Diaz, 1991), a film about Latin American exiles and migrants who brought their music and dance with them to Britain and how it spread across the country’s dance floors in the mid-eighties.

A NEW FLAVOUR IN THE GRANVILLE ARCADE (Alejandra Jimenez, 1993), Rubiela Bermudez opened the first Colombian restaurant in Brixton Market, London, in 1993. This is her story, and that of many immigrants who leave their own country searching for better economic living conditions.

Latinidad LDN is also collaborating with local Latin-American restaurant 35 Americas, located in Rye Lane Market, who will be providing a free snack or drink for all ticket holders, as well as some live music to enjoy post screening: Address: 48 Rye Lane, SE15 5BY
